'Poetry of My Body' Scan : Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and scan your body from head to toe. Notice any areas of tension, discomfort, or numbness that jump up or grab your awareness. Write down what sensations you observe and any emotions that arise - and get creative in your description of those sensations.
- What does it really feel like? - Is it sharp, tingly, shaky, vibratory, pulsating, spiky??
- What size & shape is it? - is it big, small, oblong, squarish, circular, crooked, long.. ?
- Does it have any movement? - If so, how does it move ... ?
The more creative, specific and descriptive your words are - the better! You can even make words up. The most important thing is to find a word that feels just right for that body sensation. Just as if you were writing a poem and feeling for the right word, try exploring words that match just that shade of sensation. This will really help you anchor deeper with presence into your body and embodiment; develops your mind-body neural connections, and increases your sensetivity. You will begin to discover the intricate and diverse language of sensations within you.
Artful 'E-motional Landscapes' : Take a moment to check in with your emotions. What are you feeling right now? Where is that emotion located in your body? What does it feel like? ( e.g., tightness in the chest, butterflies in the stomach). Allow yourself to fully experience and express your emotions on paper without judgment. Use colour, shapes, squiggles, images to creatively capture how an emotion feels within your body. You can even draw a body map and draw the sensations onto that body map :))
Safe Ground : What does grounding and safety feel like to you? Can you feel that in your body, if so where? Or, is it difficult to find safety and grounding in your body?
Where do I feel most grounded and safe in my body? Describe this feeling in detail.
What practices can I incorporate into my routine to cultivate a greater sense of safety and grounding in my body?
How do i know if i feel safe vs unsafe in my body?
Which places and people does my body feel safe or unsafe around?
Body Wisdom : Listen to what your body is trying to tell you. What messages is your body sending through physical sensations or discomfort? Listen for and let yourself trust whatever comes up. Write down any insights or intuitive nudges you receive.
Body as a Sanctuary : Our bodies can be a safe place, a safe haven and home.
What does it mean for me to treat my body as a sacred space? What small rituals or practices can I incorporate to honor this?
How do I nurture my body when Iâm feeling overwhelmed or stressed? List three self-care activities that help you reconnect with your body.
Loving Self - Gratitude : Cultivate a sense of gratitude for your body, mind, and beingness. Write down three things you appreciate about yourself, your body, your mind and shower yourself with love and kindness. What we water with gratitude - grows.
Intuition and Inner Guidance
How does my body communicate with me when I need to make a decision? Do I feel tension, lightness, or something else?
How do i determine what my yes's and no's are - in my body?
What practices can I adopt to enhance my bodyâs intuitive wisdom?
Future Aspirations
How do I envision my relationship with my body evolving in the future? What steps can I take to support this vision?
What dreams or desires have I been holding back from pursuing? How can I honor my bodyâs energy in manifesting these aspirations?
